A motorcyclist crashed and died shortly after sunset in east-central Minnesota, authorities said Monday.
The wreck occurred about 9:20 p.m. Sunday in Sunrise Township, about 8 miles north of North Branch, the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said.
A 51-year-old man was riding on Sunrise Road near Jess Avenue, crashed and ended up in the ditch with the motorcycle on top of him, the Sheriff's Office said. He was declared dead at the scene.
The man's identity has yet to be release.
The have now been 14 motorcycle fatalities in Minnesota so far this year, according to the state Department of Public Safety. There were 10 at this time last year.
