Gophers punter Peter Mortell named to Ray Guy Award watch list

The senior currently has the best career punting average in Gophers history.

Gophers senior Peter Mortell was one of 25 punters named to the Ray Guy Award watch list Wednesday.

Mortell is the reigning Big Ten Punter of the Year and has averaged 44.3 yards per punt in his career, the best recorded mark in Gophers history.

The Green Bay native also has a terrific sense of humor and was recently named the top college football player to follow on Twitter, by NFL.com. His Twitter handle is @PMortell37.
