Blackhawks, Pens trade defensemen
CHICAGO – The Blackhawks acquired Rob Scuderi in a trade with the Penguins on Monday night for fellow defenseman Trevor Daley. The 36-year-old Scuderi has four assists and 32 blocked shots in 25 games with Pittsburgh this season. He has eight goals and 96 assists in 745 games over 12 NHL seasons with Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. Daley, 32, was acquired by Chicago in the July trade that sent Patrick Sharp to Dallas. He had six assists in 29 games with the Blackhawks. The Penguins are hoping the slick skating Daley can help generate opportunities for an offense that has struggled to score goals.
