Wildcats win eighth in a row

• NORTHWESTERN 103, SACRED HEART 67: Alex Olah scored 21 points, and Northwestern rolled to its eighth straight win Monday. The Wildcats (11-1) shot 61 percent and set a season scoring high.


• NO. 7 NORTH CAROLINA 94, APPALACHIAN STATE 70: Brice Johnson's 22 points guided the host Tar Heels (10-2) to victory, after they lost guard Marcus Paige to an ankle injury in the first half.


• LOYOLA 88, NO. 17 DEPAUL 75: The 3-7 Ramblers, coached by former Olympian Sheryl Swoopes, pulled an upset and ended a 21-game losing streak to the Blue Demons in the Chicago city series. DePaul (8-5) got 16 points from Richfield's Jessica January.


•Senior guard and leading scorer Denzel Valentine will be lost to No. 1 Michigan State (12-0) for two to three weeks because of a knee injury. Coach Tom Izzo said Valentine had a piece of cartilage removed after a " very minor" injury in practice Sunday. Valentine is averaging 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
