Syracuse hands Duke third loss in row

• SYRACUSE 64, NO. 20 DUKE 62: Tyler Roberson had 14 points and 20 rebounds Monday, and the visiting Orange (13-7, 3-4 ACC) handed the defending national champion Blue Devils (14-5, 3-3) their first three-game losing streak since 2006-07. All three losses were to unranked teams. Roberson set the Cameron Indoor Stadium record for rebounds by a visitor, breaking the previous mark of 18 first set in 1957. Syracuse won for the first time at Cameron.

Purdue hands Rutgers 50-point beatdown

• NO. 22 PURDUE 107, RUTGERS 57: Freshman Caleb Swanigan had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and the Boilermakers held a 63-23 advantage on the boards in handing the Scarlet Knights' their worst home loss. Rutgers' previous worst loss at home was 111-69 to Lafayette on March 3, 1955. It was the biggest victory in a Big Ten game in Purdue history. The Boilermakers (16-3, 4-2 Big Ten) led 59-26 at halftime and handed Rutgers (6-13, 0-6) its 20th consecutive conference loss, 21 counting the Big Ten tournament.

WOMEN

• NO. 3 NOTRE DAME 79, NO. 18 TENNESSEE 66: Brianna Turner and Arike Ogunbowale scored 14 points each and the host Irish (17-1) beat the Lady Vols (11-6).

NOTES

•Oregon State forward Jarmal Reid was suspended at least four games by the school, a day after sticking out his leg and tripping a referee late in a loss at Utah. Reid made eye contact with official Tommy Nunez before tripping him. The senior apologized Monday. Beavers coach Wayne Tinkle said Reid's conduct over the next two weeks will determine if additional discipline will be taken.
