New stores at the Mall of America always seem to generate lots of interest.

In recent months, there have been four new retailers to the Bloomington megamall's mix, all on the northside.

Your blogger first heard about Cotton On when doing a story on the renovated Maplewood Mall. The Australian "fast fashion" retailer features casual clothing for women, men and kids.

Dr. Marten's, the shoes that outfitted punkers back in the day, opened a store on the first level of the mall.

Typo, described as a purveyor of gifts, stationary and "awesome room bling," set up shop on the first level.

And Tilly's, a California-based action sports clothier for women, men and kids -- think: surf, skate and motocross trends -- is on the second level.
