Major League Soccer entered an awkward dance with both of the Twin Cities with its abrupt announcement this week that it is now considering a St. Paul stadium site for a local franchise.

Suddenly bringing St. Paul into the stadium mix feels like a misdirection intended to spur Minneapolis to action, but maybe that's just me. This is, of course, after MLS barely gave Minneapolis time to get its funding figured out.

And right now it seems as if MLS is akin to a poker player deep into a pot with an inside straight draw and only one card left to see. Hope is nice; a plan is nicer.
