— Blue Jays manager John Gibbons, after Toronto fans chucked their hats on the field following Edwin Encarnacion's third homer Saturday.

GAME OF NUMBERS

31⅓

Consecutive scoreless innings at home for Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw before he gave up a fourth-inning homer to the Cubs' Anthony Rizzo on Friday. It was the longest such streak in the majors this season.

8

Grand slams for the Giants this season after Marlon Byrd hit one Friday, most in the majors.

MOOKIE TIMES TWO

Mookie Betts

OF, Boston

With the Red Sox visiting the Mets for the first time since 2001, the teams were trying to arrange a meeting between Betts and former Mets outfielder Mookie Wilson, who was at Citi Field.
