The 35-year-old reliever, who was pitching at Class AAA Iowa under a minor league contract signed last month, was called up Monday and, through incentives, could earn $1,725,137 for the remaining 77 days of the Cubs’ season. Soriano has pitched for five teams; most recenty, he recorded 32 saves in 2014 for the Washington Nationals.
