OUT LOUD

"Everybody wants there to be a lot made of that being my former team, but they were trying to get me out and I was trying to get hits."

— The Dodgers' Jimmy Rollins, who went 5-for-15 with five RBI in a four-game series vs. the Phillies, facing his former team for the first time.

EX-TWIN WATCH

Denard Span

CF, Nationals

Span, who was pulled in the third inning of Monday's game vs. Cincinnati and has not played since, was put on the disabled list, in the hope that extended rest will help treat back spasms that have bothered him for most of the season. Span is batting .304 with five homers and 22 RBI in 59 games, and is 11-for-11 in steals. If all goes well, he will rejoin the Nationals soon after the All-Star break.
