Minnesota's growing stockpile of lost money
The unclaimed assets the MN Commerce Dept. is holding has more than doubled since 2005 to $606 million as it escalates enforcement of state laws requiring companies to find owners of dormant accounts or turn the money over to the state for safekeeping. Most of the money goes into the general fund.
