Minnesota United FC midfielder Jeb Brovsky has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will be out for the rest of the season.

Brovsky was injured in first half of Minnesota's Oct. 22 game in Carolina. He is expected to undergo surgical treatment soon and is expected to make a full recovery.

His loss comes as the Loons prepare for a must-win game against New York on Saturday at the National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine. Minnesota needs a victory to have any shot at making the North American Soccer League playoffs. The team also needs a Rayo OKC loss to clinch the fourth and final playoff spot.

Brovsky, a hard-nosed competitor who played for NYCFC of Major League Soccer last season, started every match he played in this season for United. He tallied 2,174 minutes in 26 appearances while completing 86.1 percent of his passes. He filled in at right back when Kevin Venegas got hurt and drew rave reviews from coach Carl Craig for solid defensive play.
