Minnesota scene: Wild re-signs goalie Curry

The Wild re-signed goalie John Curry to a one-year, two-way contract. The 30-year-old Shorewood native spent most of last season between the ECHL and AHL, but he served as Wild backup on a number of occasions late in the regular season and postseason. He made 43 saves in a 4-2 win over St. Louis on April 10 for his first NHL victory since Nov. 11, 2008.

Saints fail to sweep in Winnipeg

The St. Paul Saints committed three errors and left 11 runners on base as they failed to pull off their first four-game sweep ever in Winnipeg, losing to the Goldeyes 7-2. Saints second baseman Sam Maus had his first professional four-hit game, raising his average to .337.

Wolves lose but Muhammad scores 24

The Timberwolves (1-4) lost to the Sacramento Kings 100-86 in a summer league game in Las Vegas. Shabazz Muhammad scored 24 points, and Gorgui Dieng had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Wolves.

• Gophers men's hockey coach Don Lucia announced that sophomore forward Gabe Guertler has been granted his release. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native had two goals and three assists in 24 games last season.

• Ellen Thompson announced her resignation after nine seasons as Macalester women's basketball coach.
