Alex Iafallo gave Minnesota Duluth its only lead of the afternoon, but it was the one that counted the most.

The senior left winger scored with 15.6 seconds remaining in the third period to break a tie and lift the No. 6 Bulldogs men's hockey team past No. 17 Michigan Tech 4-3 on Sunday at AMSOIL Arena.

The victory completed Minnesota Duluth's first season-opening series sweep since the 1995-96 season. UMD won the season opener 6-0 Saturday.

Michigan Tech twice held two-goal leads, the first coming in the opening period when Reid Sturos and Tyler Heinonen scored five minutes apart in the first 8:21 of the game.
