Concordia (St. Paul) unseated Southwest Minnesota State as the No. 1 team in NCAA Division II in Monday's American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

Saturday's victory over the Mustangs, who dropped to second, made the Golden Bears 12-0 against No. 1 teams, and earned them 40 of 48 first-place votes in the poll. Both teams are 21-2.

• The Gophers are fifth in the Division I poll as the top five were unchanged. Wisconsin and Michigan State each climbed one spot to eighth and ninth, respectively.

AHL suspends Bickel

Former Gophers and Wild defenseman Stu Bickel, playing for the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League, was suspended by the league for five games for his actions in a game Friday. Bickel earned three game misconducts against the Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas. Bickel, who appeared in nine games for the Wild in 2014-15, is in his third season with the Gulls.

U hockey in top five

The Gophers' weekend sweep of Clarkson helped them rise from seventh to fifth in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll released Monday. It was the only change among the USCHO men's top five, as Denver, St. Cloud State, Harvard and North Dakota held the top four spots. The Gophers swapped places with Wisconsin. Minnesota Duluth is eighth and Minnesota State Mankato ninth.
