Three former winners of the Minnesota PGA Match Play Championship advanced to the semifinals of that tournament at Oak Ridge Country Club by winning twice on Wednesday.

Brent Snyder, the 2010 and '13 champion, will play Eddie Wynne (2009) in one of Thursday's semifinals. Don Berry (1996, 2001-04) will meet Scott Cole in the other. Snyder had the closest quarterfinal match, beating Eric Chiles 2 and 1.

Dixon on national team

Former Gopher Tori Dixon was named to Team USA on Wednesday for the women's volleyball world championships from Sept. 23 to Oct. 12 in Verona, Italy.

Dixon, a middle blocker, was a first-team All-America pick in 2013 as a college senior.
