September 6, 2016 at 4:51AM

The St. Paul Saints closed their regular season with a walk-off victory Monday, 5-4 over the Lincoln Saltdogs at CHS Field, and tied for the best record in the American Association.

Tony Caldwell's single in the ninth drove in the winning run after Vinny DiFazio tripled. That gave the Saints a 61-39 record, the same as Wichita's.

The Saints will play Winnipeg, which finished 58-42 and second to St. Paul in the North Division, in the first round of the playoffs beginning Wednesday in Winnipeg.
