St. Cloud State defenseman Jimmy Schuldt and Minnesota State Mankato forward C.J. Suess are among 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in college hockey, the award's committee announced Wednesday.
The other candidates besides Schuldt, a junior from Minnetonka, and Suess, a senior from Forest Lake, are forwards Henrik Borgstrom of Denver, Ryan Donato of Harvard, Adam Gaudette and Dylan Sikura both of Northeastern, and Dylan McLaughlin of Canisius, and goalies Matthew Galajda of Cornell, Cale Morris of Notre Dame and Colton Point of Colgate.
The lone defenseman in the Hobey top 10, Schuldt is a first-team NCHC all-conference selection and is a finalist for player of the year and offensive defenseman of the year.
Suess is the WCHA offensive player of the year.
The three finalists will be announced Marc 25, the winner April 6.

Reeve on U.S. team staff
Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve will be one of three assistant coaches on the USA women's basketball team that will compete in the FIBA World Cup in late September in Spain. Reeve, Seattle Storm coach Dan Hughes and George Washington University coach Jennifer Rizzotti will be the assistants to head coach Dawn Staley (South Carolina). They will work as a staff during an April training camp in Seattle.
