The fifth-ranked Gophers completed a weekend softball sweep of Iowa with a 3-0 victory in front of an announced 1,383, a record crowd for Jane Sage Cowles Stadium, a day after drawing nearly 1,200 fans for Game 2 against Iowa.
"Today's crowd was unbelievable," Gophers coach Jessica Allister said.
Sara Groenewegen recorded her second victory of the weekend over the Hawkeyes (15-27, 7-10 Big Ten).
Maddie Houlihan drove in all three runs, on a two-run inside-the-park homer in the third inning and an RBI single in the fifth. It was her second consecutive three-RBI game.
Danielle Parlich scored twice, giving her a team-leading 48 runs for the Gophers (43-3, 16-1).
