Hamline men's hockey coach Cory Laylin was named the head coach of Team USA's Under-18 entry in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup tournament, which will be played Aug. 6-11 in Alberta.

The team includes four Minnesotans — forwards Aaron Huglen (Roseau), Grant Silianoff (Edina) and Jackson Jutting (Savage) and defenseman Mike Koster (Chaska).

Israelsons lead MGA team event

Fueled by an eagle on the 14th hole, siblings Andrew and Emily Israelson posted a 7-under par 65 to take the opening-round lead at the Minnesota Golf Association Mixed Amateur Team Championship at Forest Hills Golf Club. The Israelsons enter Tuesday's final round two shots ahead of Leigh Klasse and J.T. Johnson.
