The Gophers women's swim team, in its only home dual meet of the season, tied Florida at 150 points Saturday at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center.

Minnesota men's team lost to the Gators 174.50 to 124.50.

Senior Samantha Harding led the women's team, sweeping the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles. Her time of 9 minutes, 53.79 seconds in the longer race is currently No. 1 in the nation.

The Gophers' 400 freestyle relay, anchored by Kaia Grobe, won the last event of the dual to get the tie.

In the men's meet, Minnesota took the top three spots in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. Eric Sande won the 100 breaststroke, John Bushman the 200 breaststroke.


• The Gophers women's soccer team, which is rated No. 14 in the nation and is leading the Big Ten, will play Iowa at noon Sunday in Iowa City. Minnesota is 10-2-2 overall, 5-1 in the conference..

• No. 5 Southwest Minnesota State defeated St. Cloud State 25-12, 25-15, 25-11 on Saturday in Marshall to give coach Terry Culhane his 300th career victory. The night before the Mustangs (14-3, 7-2 NSIC) beat No. 1 Minnesota Duluth 25-14, 25-22, 19-25, 22-25, 15-12. Abbey Thissen had 33 kills total for the Mustangs in the two matches, 15 against the Huskies.
