Gophers volleyball players Samantha Seliger-Swenson and Alexis Hart were chosen the Big Ten's setter of the week and freshman of the week for the second week in a row. Middle blocker Hannah Tapp was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week, her first weekly honor of the season.

Seliger-Swenson helped the Gophers to a .382 hitting percentage over Louisville and No. 11 North Carolina last weekend in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Minnesota had 99 kills, averaging 14.14 over seven tournament sets. Seliger-Swenson had 88 assists (12.57 per set average). She also had two aces, 16 digs and eight blocks. Against Louisville, Seliger-Swenson had a double-double of 35 assists, 10 digs and added two aces and five blocks. Against the Tar Heels, Seliger-Swenson had 53 assists, six digs and three blocks as the team hit .333.

Hart hit .403 and averaged 4.29 kills per set. Against Louisville, Hart held a .522 efficiency when she led all attackers with 13 kills, committed just one error in 23 attempts. Against No. 11 North Carolina, Hart led the Gophers with 17 kills, committed four errors in 39 swings for a .333 hitting clip. In the fourth and deciding set, Hart hit .400, with four kills in 10 attempts.
