The Gophers baseball team beat North Dakota State (8-22) 13-5 with 16 hits Tuesday. Minnesota (13-19) had two innings in which it scored at least five runs off Bison pitching at Siebert Field. The 13 runs and 16 hits matched the Gophers' season highs.

Second baseman Connor Schaefbauer hit 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, a double and two stolen bases. Left fielder Tony Skjefte went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a double. Center fielder Jordan Smith scored three runs.

U women finish 13th

The Gophers women's golf team wrapped up its 2014-15 regular season at the final round of the Silverado Showdown, where they finished 13th. Senior Carmen Laguna tied for 20th place at 9 over par (74-74-77), her second top-20 finish of the year.

Firing the low Gophers round of the day was sophomore Emie Peronnin, whose 2-over-par 74 helped her move three spots up the leaderboard to a tie for 32nd at 13 over par (78-77-74—229).

• Former Gophers defenseman Mike Reilly was named to the U.S. men's national team, days after the American Hockey Coaches Association named him a first-team All-America selection.
