The Gophers women's soccer team took its third victory — and its third shutout — of the season Sunday, defeating South Dakota State 2-0 at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.

The Gophers (3-1-0) dominated many aspects of the game, leading the Jackrabbits in shots 21-7 and getting 11 corner kicks to South Dakota State's one.

The Gophers improved to 3-1-0, their only loss to No. 2 Florida State. South Dakota State fell to 0-3-0.

Freshman Sydney Squires scored the Gophers' first goal, in the 19th minute on an assist by Josee Stiever. Sophomore Simone Kolander scored in the 88th minute, giving her three goals and five assists this season, most among Big Ten players.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs got her third shutout of the season, making three saves.
