The seventh-ranked Gophers softball team had players capture three of the Big Ten’s weekly awards announced Monday.

Sophomore shortstop Allie Arneson shared the conference’s player of the week award with Northwestern senior outfielder Anna Petersen. Both are first-time honorees. Freshman Amber Fiser was pitcher of the week, her first Big Ten honor, while catcher Kendyl Lindaman repeated as freshman of the week.

Arneson hit .714 with two home runs, including a grand slam, and nine RBI in a 5-0 week for the Gophers. She hit her grand slam during a weekend sweep of Indiana.

Fiser, who worked both as a starter and a reliever last week, was chosen the pitcher of the week. Fiser allowed three hits in nine scoreless innings, including a two-hit shutout in the finale of the Indiana series. She struck out six and walked none in becoming the first freshman to earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors since May 2014.

Lindaman batted .400 with a 1.300 slugging percentage with three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored in the Gophers’ five wins. She hit two home runs, drove in four runs and scored twice in a midweek victory over South Dakota and had another home run, three RBI and two runs scored in the Big Ten weekend series opener against Indiana.

Saints sign former Gopher

Former Gophers pitcher Seth Rosin has signed with the St. Paul Saints.

Rosin, 28, was with the Twins during spring training before being released last month. He missed most of last season because of a bone spur in his elbow.

He appeared in five games for San Diego’s Class AAA team. Rosin appeared in three games for the Texas Rangers in 2014 and one for the Phillies in 2015.
