The Gophers baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Penn State with an 8-2 victory Sunday in West Lafayette, Ind.

Gophers starter Reggie Meyer allowed only two hits in five innings and combined with three relievers to limit the Nittany Lions (7-18, 1-8 Big Ten) to no earned runs and four hits.

Terrin Vavra, Ben Mezzenga and Alex Boxwell each drove in two runs for the Gophers (21-10, 5-1).

• The Gophers softball team split a doubleheader with Michigan State in East Lansing. The Spartans (14-19, 2-6 Big Ten) won the first game 3-2 before the Gophers (21-14, 4-3) won the second 6-2. Dani Wagner was 3-for-7 with three RBI in the two games to lead the Gophers.

• On senior day, the Gophers women's tennis team defeated Penn State 5-2 in their final home match of the season. The victory gave Minnesota a 12-2 record at home — the team's most wins in a season at Baseline Tennis Center, which opened in 2002.

• The Gophers men's tennis team (12-6, 5-2 Big Ten) claimed its first conference road victory by beating Purdue 5-2 in West Lafayette, Ind.
