The Gophers placed 10th, one stroke ahead of Indiana, in the Big Ten men's golf tournament Sunday after recording a final-round score of 299 at the Baltimore (Md.) Country Club.

The Gophers had their best round on Friday in Round 1, shooting 291.

Justin Doeden was the top Gophers finisher, closing with his second 1-over-par 71 in three rounds for a final score of 6-over 216, good for 23rd place. Thomas Longbella, who led Minnesota in the first two rounds, tied for 28th at 218 after shooting a 76 in the third round

Illinois won the team championship at 11-under 829, 16 strokes better than runner-up Northwestern, and the Illini's Dylan Meyer, sparked by an opening-round 63, was medalist at 5-under 205.

Northwestern's Ryan Lumsden and Ohio State's Will Grimmer were at 206.

Winona State's Poock coaches 400th win

A one-hitter by Mitchell Stalsberg in the first game of a Northern Sun doubleheader Saturday led Winona State to a 9-0 baseball victory at Northern State and gave Warriors coach Kyle Poock his 400th career victory. The Wolves won the second game 12-3.
