It’s been 10 days since Rachel Banham and her Gophers teammates got bounced from the Big Ten tournament in the second round.

Minnesota junior guard Rachel Banham was named an Associated Press All-America honorable mention selection for the second straight season on Tuesday as were Iowa's Samantha Logic and Nebraska's Rachel Theriot.

Nebraska's Jordan Hooper was selected for the All-America second team, Penn State's Maggie Lucas for the third team.

Banham, a native of Lakeville, was a unanimous All-Big Ten first-team selection after averaging conference highs of 23.3 points per game in Big Ten games, and 22.1 points in all games.

She ranks fourth all-time at Minnesota in career points with 1,993.

Etc.

• Gophers senior righthander Sara Moulton was the fifth overall pick, by the Chicago Bandits, in the National Pro Fastpitch College Draft in Nashville. Five former Gophers players have played in that fastpitch softball league, including Piper Ritter, the Gophers' pitching coach. Moulton is 18-3 with a 1.29 ERA.

• The Gophers' baseball game with North Dakota State at Siebert Field was postponed until April 16. But the team added a home game at 3 p.m. Wednesday against Augsburg College. Admission will be free. The Auggies were scheduled to play a doubleheader against Bethel at Parade Stadium, but those games were postponed. The difference? Siebert's artifical turf surface.

• Two-time defending Class 2A state champion Edina will be among the boys' hockey teams in the Schwan's Cup Gold Division tournament from Dec. 29-31. Also in the field are Duluth East and Eden Prairie, two other teams from the past big-school state tournament.

The remaining schedule is favorable, but their hopes of a late-season run were dulled by a home loss to the Terrapins.
