Minnesota business leaders receive Ernst & Young's Entrepeneur of the Year Upper Midwest Award

Ernst & Young awarded business leaders from three Minnesota companies with its Entrepreneur of the Year Upper Midwest Award.

Ernst & Young awarded business leaders from three Minnesota companies with its Entrepreneur of the Year Upper Midwest Award.

The firm said the annual award is "given to entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities."

Chris Coburn of St. Cloud-based grocery chain Coborn's Inc. won in the region's retail category.

Jeff Julkowski, Killian Rieder and Michael Flaherty of Minneapolis-based jewelry business Chamilia won in the emerging category.

Paul Wagner of St. Paul-based Minnesota Wire, won in the technology category.

The winning businesses will move onto compete in the national competition.
