Ten state attorneys general joined the Federal Trade Commission's antitrust lawsuit to block Sysco Corp.'s proposed $3.5 billion acquisition of US Foods Inc.

"I am concerned that one company controlling 75 percent of the market could drive up prices and lower services," Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson said in an e-mailed statement.

Swanson said the other states joining the FTC lawsuit were California, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia, plus the District of Columbia.
