Ah, Paris in the spring.

Northwest Airlines begins daily nonstop service between the Twin Cities and Paris this afternoon.

The service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will be flown on a new Airbus A330, which seats 264 in economy class and 34 in business.

And, according to nwa.com, it's not too late to buy a ticket. If you want to take the maiden flight and return a week later, it will cost you a little more than $2,900 for Flight 62, which departs at 3:30 p.m. for the trip lasting 8 hours and 50 minutes. Dinner is included.

There will be a gathering at Gate G1 of NWA executives and others about 1:30 this afternoon to mark the new service.
