Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and General Manager Rick Spielman (pictured) both have contracts through next season.
As the team prepared Friday for its wildcard playoff game at New Orleans on Sunday, Vikings co-owner Mark Wilf issued this statement:
“We value Mike and Rick's leadership and we have every intent of Mike continuing as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings and Rick leading our football operations, next year and beyond."
With the job of Dallas head coach Jason Garrett in jeopardy, Zimmer has been mentioned casually as a potential replacement, mostly because he is a former Dallas assistant. If the Cowboys intend to hire any NFL head coach under contract, they would have to trade for him.
