Three-time Olympic gold-medal swimmer Jason Lezak, the American swimmer who played a key role in keeping Michael Phelps in the hunt for athletic immortality, will speak Sunday night at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., the school announced today.

Lezak will speak about what it means to be an Olympian, answer questions from the audience members and sign autographs.

Lezak won gold at last year's Summer Games in Beijing in the 4-by-100 meter medley relay and the 4-by-100 freestyle relay.

While anchoring the 4-by-100 free, not only helped the team set a world record, Lezak also made up a huge deficit and kept teammate Phelps on his way to winning a record eight golds in one Olympics.

Lezak also won a bronze medal in the individual 100-meter freestyle in Beijing and earned gold and bronze medals in the

2004 Olympics in Athens.

His appearance is sponsored by the Gustavus Campus Activities Board and is open to members of the Gustavus community. Paul Walsh • 612-673-4482
