Men's pop-up market: Northern Grade
This Saturday, the area's best dressed men will have the chance to converge at a one-day style event, Northern Grade Men's Market.
The pop-up shop arose from a collaboration between Twin Cities companies J.W. Hulme Co. and Pierrepont Hicks. They're hosting a collection of brands that they consider "heritage" whether they are old or new, which all create or carry goods that are made in America. Look for nearly 20 vendors, including Red Wing shoes, Duluth Pack bags, Fox River Socks, Stormy Kromer hats, Baldwin Denim jeans, Taylor Stitch shirts, Galen Labs skin care and Fur Armor outerwear. Adding to the party atmosphere will be live music all day by Erik Koskinen, the 128 Café food truck and a full bar, serving a signature "Dark and Stormy" cocktail.
While not all of the businesses are technically from the North, they still have a lot in common, primarily small runs of high-quality goods. "They share our philosophy and ethics, business sense and philosophies," said Kat McMillan of Pierrepont Hicks. "It's a stamp of approval."
NorthernGrade Men's Market, 1330 NE. Quincy St., Architectural Antiques, Mpls., noon to 7 p.m. Sat., www.northerngrade.blogspot.com.
