Jay Pivec, in his 18th season as men's basketball coach at Minneapolis Community and Technical College and his 25th as a college head coach, won his 500th career game Wednesday night.
No. 500 came in a 60-49 home victory over Anoka-Ramsey. Quentin Jackson and Cortez Wallace each scored 16 points for the Marauders (16-4, 6-0).
Pivec has a career record of 500-230 -- 389-103 at MCTC.
Pivec was a head coach at Jamestown (N.D.) and Montana State-Northern before becoming MCTC coach in 1990.
