MAUER'S NIGHT

His entrance: Mike Napoli started the game at catcher, and Matt Wieters replaced him in the sixth inning. Mauer entered at first base in the eighth.

What he did: Leading off the ninth inning against Diamondbacks lefty Wade Miley, Mauer lined a single up the middle, making him 3-for-9 in All-Star play.

What he said: "Obviously, I was a little surprised [to be playing first base], but I brought my first baseman's glove along just in case, and I'm glad I did."
