Disney for grownupsIf you haven't outgrown your love for Mickey Mouse -- but you're too old to have cartoon characters all over your walls, here's an alternative. York Wallcoverings has released a line of Disney-inspired wallpaper that borrows stylistic elements from classic Disney movies and characters, then interprets them in an abstract way -- suitable for big boy/big girl interiors.

So instead of a literal rendering of Cinderella's pumpkin coach, for example, you get a pattern of swirling lines that evokes the spirit of the enchanted, animated carriage in a subtle, elegant way.

The Walt Disney Signature Wallpaper collection features designs inspired by "Steamboat Willie," "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Cinderella," "Bambi" and "Alice in Wonderland." Some of the papers are embedded with glass beading, to add magical shimmer and sparkle. To see the collection, visit www.yorkwall.com. It's sold locally at Hirshfield's.
