Runners of the Walt Disney World Marathon today will face brutally cold temperatures in the lower to mid 30s to start. Layered clothing is recommended for both the runners and the spectators. Extra layers will mean extra charity, since the layers shed by runners will go to charity.

Afternoon highs will struggle to climb into the upper 40s in Orlando, while areas farther south will rise into the lower 50s.

Farther south, Miami and Fort Lauderdale are among the cities and towns that challenged record lows that have been standing for 30 years or more this morning! The record cold follows after snow and sleet fell over central portions of the Sunshine State. Snow flakes were seen during the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, which took place early Saturday!
