A man was found dead in a western Minnesota lake just north of Alexandria, authorities said.
The body of Danny Haak, 59, of Alexandria, was discovered late Saturday afternoon by his wife near his dock on Lake Ida, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.
A retired state trooper pulled Haak to shore and started CPR before emergency responders arrived and took over, the Sheriff's Office said. However, Haak was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities said they have yet to determine how Haak ended up in the water near the dock where he launched his boat. He was not wearing a life jacket, the Sheriff's Office said.
