RED WING, Minn. — A man accused of killing his girlfriend near Red Wing then driving her body to Wisconsin before calling police is now facing murder charges in Minnesota.

Twenty-three-year-old Tanner Jess Rix is charged in Goodhue County with multiple counts.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/1LJCfHh ) Rix was extradited from Wisconsin after pleading guilty in that state to hiding a corpse. A murder charge in Wisconsin will be dismissed now that he's charged in Minnesota.

Authorities say Rix called authorities in Wisconsin on Sept. 9, 2014, saying he shot his passenger in the face a day earlier. He claimed his girlfriend, Angel Linderman, was still breathing. Rix was arrested when officers arrived, and the 28-year-Linderman was obviously dead.

A message left Monday with Rix's attorney was not immediately returned to The Associated Press.
