Two nights before their dual CD-release party with Roma di Luna at First Avenue, chamber-folk adventurers Dark Dark Dark will take a smaller stage Thursday at the Whole Music Club to kick off the 12th season of the "Making Music" series (7:30 p.m., free, with limited seating). The live-Q&A and sometimes-musical series is put on by the University of Minnesota and hosted by local music vet James Everest of Lateduster, who now of course plays bass in Roma di Luna -- a bit incestuous as bookings go, but I doubt anyone's complaining. Other "Making Music" shows will include Adam Levy (Honeydogs) on Nov. 11 and Ryan Olson (Gayngs) on Dec. 9. Click here to see clips of past shows with Brother Ali, Dan Wilson and many more.

Dark Dark Dark's second full-length album, "Wild Go," was produced with Tom Herbers and officially comes out Oct. 5. Roma Di Luna is also going to have a busy week behind LP #3, "Then the Morning Came," including a free in-store gig Wednesday at the Electric Fetus (7 p.m.), an appearance on TPT/Channel 2's "MN Originals" starting Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and an on-air set for Radio K's "Off the Record" Friday at 3 p.m., followed by Saturday's main-room show. I think they might be getting a little press this week, too.
