Luxury lounge, day spa, bubbly: How to pamper yourself at MSP Airport

If traveling stresses you out, you’re not alone — and there is help. MSP offers many possible antidotes.

Pamper yourself / Take a shower: Whether you want to wash off your nine hours of travel or splurge for a mani-pedi, XpresSpa has got you covered. Besides nail services, the salon offers massages — including full-body — waxing, facials, haircuts and blowouts, and showers if you’re willing to pay the steep prices.

Find it: A kiosk in the Airport Mall, and full locations near Gate F6 and at the intersection of Concourses C and D; xpresspa.com. 

Lounge in style: The old airport world said you had to be a well-traveled airline loyalty member to get access to lush lounges. With the new Escape Lounge, you only need to be willing to part with $40 (if you pre-book, or $45 on the spot) for access to plush seating, a buffet of treats and an open bar.

Find it: Airport Mall second floor, next to PGA MSP; escapelounges.com. 

Upgrade your seat: For a cheaper stress relief, plant yourself in one of the First Class Seats, otherwise known as massage chairs, scattered throughout the terminal. Pay $1 for three minutes or $5 for 15 minutes.

Find it: Near gates C1, C6, C12, C15, C21, E1 and F3. 

Get renewed: For free relief, pop by Aveda. The hair and skin-care products store offers what they call “mini moments of wellness” in the form of complimentary shoulder massages — with their stress-relief body oils — or hand massages with their hand-relief lotions.

Find it: Airport Mall; aveda.com. 

Nurse the little one: For babies, nothing is more relaxing than warm milk. Parents can give their babies what they need — while keeping things private for themselves — at Terminal 1’s lactation (for pumping) and nursing rooms.

Find it: A lactation room is at the entrance to Concourse F; another (near Gate E1) is on the way. Two nursing rooms are near gate C12 and at the entrance to Concourse E.
