Love Wins: A Sweetpea Soiree

Ace burlesque performer Sweetpea launches her new "Soiree" series with an electoral twist. In a nod to the proposed amendment to ban gay marriage, she'll host an all-female group of artists spanning comedy, music, poetry, burlesque, drag and film, all performing pieces that tell stories of love overcoming boundaries. The lineup includes comedian/playwright Colleen Kruse, pint-sized rocker Mayda, burlesque dancers Musette and Queenie Von Curves, the babelicious L'Assassins frontwoman Tea Simpson and filmmaker Pam Colby, who'll preview her short film "Secrets for Mom," about a conservative congresswoman running for office while trying to keep wraps on her lesbian daughter's pending nuptials.
