Another veteran of the Twin Cities club scene has made it onto NBC's "The Voice." Kat Perkins of the hard-rock band Scarlet Haze — a favorite in suburban bars and frequent local opener for Bret Michaels — has been out in Los Angeles in recent weeks filming for the show and can be seen taking a rave comment from Blake Shelton in a preview clip of the upcoming season. See how she fares starting with the Feb. 24 episode. …

The 4onthefloor is down to frontman Gabriel Douglas as the lone original member after bassist Chris Holm and drummer Mark Larson quit the band last week due to what Larson called — yep, you guessed it — musical differences. Plus, the pair intend to amp up their other band, Fattenin' Frogs, and other endeavors. Douglas plans to continue fronting 4otf with new members. …

A band that thankfully didn't splinter after guitarist Luke Jacobs moved to that hipster-overpopulated condo mecca known as Austin, Texas, Romantica is set to play its first show in a year, a Valentine's-centric performance Friday night at the Aster Cafe's River Room (9 p.m., $15). The group now features frontman Ben Kyle's sister-in-law, Jayanthi Kyle (Black Audience), as co-vocalist. Jacobs is also back in town to perform with his Austin-based partner Carrie Rodriguez at the Cedar Cultural Center on Feb. 23. …

The Cedar hosts another installment of Lucy Michelle's Valentines Mixtape on Friday, a country-themed edition with guests Frankie Lee, the Cactus Blossoms, John Mark Nelson and the Blackberry Brandy Boys (8 p.m., $14-$16). … Another chance to wear that oversized suit, Jason Fladager and God Johnson are hosting their fourth annual tribute to the Talking Heads' "Stop Making Sense" concert movie at the Cabooze on Friday (9:30, 10 p.m.). …

While talking to us for a feature on his band's seven-week, discography-mining series at Fitger's Brewhouse (read it online at startribune.com/music), Low frontman Alan Sparhawk let slide that he recently produced Trampled by Turtles' sessions for their upcoming album at the newly refurbished Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls. Sounds like a perfect fit all around.
