Gophers tight end Brandon Lingen missed the spring game with a shoulder injury that "needs to be addressed," coach Tracy Claeys said. But Claeys was quick to note that there is plenty of time for Lingen and others to heal before the team opens training camp in early August.

Wide receiver Rashad Still missed the spring game with a knee injury. Cornerback KiAnte Hardin has been dealing with a hamstring issue, and linebacker Cody Poock had a cast on his right hand this week.

Emmit Carpenter went 4-for-4 in field goal attempts in the Gold team's 19-7 victory in the spring game. Claeys said it's possible Carpenter will handle the kicking duties, with Ryan Santoso moving to punter this fall. Santoso could still be used on longer field goal attempts, but Claeys has been clear that he doesn't want the kicking and punting duties held by the same player.
