The fillies and mares will make room for some rock goddesses and an R&B queen on July 18, when Canterbury Park in Shakopee will host Lilith Fair, the all-female summer concert tour that returns from an 11-year hiatus.

After months of buildup, tour organizers finally announced the Minnesota date Monday with a lineup featuring Lilith co-founder Sarah McLachlan along with Heart, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Metric, Kate Nash and more. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., priced $62 for general admission, $130 for reserved seats and $245 for golden-circle chairs.

The concert will take place outside the horse track at the newly named Canterbury Park Festival Field, a large grassy area previously used for parking. Two other big shows, the May 30 Soundset festival and the Aug. 1 local Warped Tour date, will also be moved into the field (details of both events will soon be announced).

Started in 1997 as a reaction to male-dominated radio formats and concert tours, Lilith Fair drew more than 1.5 million fans over three years and helped make stars of then-rising acts such as Blige, the Dixie Chicks, Tegan and Sara, and Lucinda Williams. The three original tours also raised $10 million for women's charities, a tradition that will continue, with $2 of every 2010 ticket going toward donations.
