LOS ANGELES - Actress Mamie Gummer knows it can be daunting to follow in your parent's footsteps, especially if your mom is named Meryl Streep. "I was aware of the ramifications that would hold," said Gummer who is part of the ensemble for "Off the Map," an ABC medical series set in South America, premiering Wednesday night. Gummer, who has reaped rave reviews for her stage work, said the two really don't talk shop at home.

"It's not like we own a line of pizza joints and there's a secret ingredient in the sauce," she said Monday at the TV Critics Press Tour.

"Map," like "Private Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy," is being produced by Shonda Rhimes, who will become even more important to the network next season. ABC has bought her drama about a Washington consultant who helps people in crisis. That show is expected to join "Grey's," "Private," "Castle," "Cougar Town," "The Middle" and "Modern Family," all of which were picked up Monday for the 2011-12 season.

Others addressing TV writers Monday included the cast of "Pretty Little Liars," newly appointed ABC News President Ben Sherwood and the stars of the upcoming Disney Channel movie "Lemonade Mouth."
