Two injured after police squad car collides with light-rail in Minneapolis

The officer and a civilian in the squad car were hospitalized.

Two people were injured after a squad car from the Metro Transit Police Department collided with a light-rail train in downtown Minneapolis on Friday.

The officer and a civilian in the squad car were hospitalized but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Mike Lee of the Minnesota State Patrol, which is investigating the incident.

No injuries were reported on the train.

The collision occurred around 5 p.m. near the Hennepin County jail.
