St. Louis Park-based trade association LifeScience Alley hopes to strengthen its voice on the national policy scene, by hiring a vice president of public policy and affiliation relations.

The newly-created position will help LifeScience Alley take on issues on a national scale that are important to Minnesota's life science industry, said Dale Wahlstrom, the group's president and CEO.

"Our voice is not as strong as it needs to be in establishing national policy," Wahlstrom said.

Other duties of the new vice president are listed here.

Wahlstrom said the new vice president position will help support efforts made by national trade groups such as AdvaMed and the Medical Device Manufacturers Association.
