If Disney wanted to build a new theme park in Minnesota and said it needed $350 million in public tax money to do it, would it happen?
Why not? The taxes from all of the tourists would be huge. Imagine the jobs it would create.
Would I want to have taxes pay for it? No -- and I love Disney. I would pay a higher ticket price to go.
But I wouldn't expect other taxpayers to subsidize my fun ("Foes pile on Vikings stadium subsidy," Sept. 29).
Disney has plenty of money, just like Zygi Wilf and the Pohlads. What is stopping any wealthy business from holding taxpayers hostage when you open the gates like this?
